I'm a creative storyteller and producer

Janea West is from a small town in Massachusetts, but her stories follow her adventures around the world. Her work has received grants and awards for her coming-of-age stories showcasing unique, quirky characters and their relatable storylines.

Her first project was a comedy drama developed at Columbia University later produced into a DC-based comedy drama called GROWN the web series (2019) which received Best Narrative at the Black Girls Rock! film festival in 2022. Since then she's studied at UCLA and was most recently accepted into an artist residency in France where she began writing her latest project set in Los Angeles.

Her writing is often compared to shows like Sex and the City, Girlfriends and Insecure. It's humorous, aware, and at its core: all about friendship.
When she's not writing TV pilots, she's crafting short stories on Substack, under the handle Effortlessly Frazzled. West is currently based in Los Angeles and is building her writing career in television.
